Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) or Non Profit Organisation (NPO) can be registered by many registration processes in India like Society, Company, Trust or any valid formation but status of the registered organisation is equal and equally recognised as NGO (Non Governmental Organisation /Non-Profit Organisation).

Registration process of NGO under Indian Trust Act, Society Registration Act, Company Registration Act or any other act/ law are different but the status of the registered organisation is equal as NGO. There is no difference in the status of NGO to get funding from Central/State Government Departments/ Ministries, Foreign funding agencies, Indian funding agencies, companies for Corporate social responsibility, individuals or any support agencies.
NGO registered through any process/ act can get registered under Income Tax Act, Foreign Currency Regulation Act (FCRA) or any kind of registration with any Government requirement. Job Description:
The Project Director will lead a team of field workers and community volunteers in the villages of the project area located in the Desert region of Western Rajasthan. He/she will supervise the field team to implement project activities that address solutions for drinking water crises and sanitation. He/she will work with a project team at the grassroots level to supervise water structures constructed by village communities.

Specific tasks of the Project Director include:
Responsible for the management and supervision of all project activities and assuming full responsibility for delivery of project outputs.
Assume primary responsibility for daily project management – both organizational and substantive matters – budgeting, planning and general monitoring of the project;
Ensure collection of relevant data necessary for pre and post project requirements.
Assume overall responsibility for reporting on project progress vis-à-vis indicators in the log-frame;
Assume overall responsibility for timely reporting to the donor on project progress through donor reports and case studies.
Organising and participate as faculty in staff training and beneficiary trainings on a regular monthly/weekly basis.

Desired Candidate Profile:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Management, with fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English and if he/she is from the development sector, he/she will be required to have field experience of at least 15-20 years in grass-root project management in rural areas in an NGO is very essential. If the candidate is from the private sector background, he/she should have 15-20 years field experience which required independent management of teams not less than 100 people. The candidate should be in the age group of 40 to 50 years, physically fit and willing to spend 15 to 20 days on field visits in very hot climates and rough terrain. He/she should be able to inspire the team by personal example.

Candidates with less than required experience will not be considered for this position.

Annual Remuneration may be up to Rs. 18 to 20 lacs depending on the evaluation at the time of interview with enormous opportunities for individual career growth.

National Operational Research Training Course
August 20-31, 2018, National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, New Delhi, India

The International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) is an international scientific organization headquartered in Paris with a mission towards providing ‘Health Solutions to the Poor’. A leader in the field of TB and tobacco control, it works closely with leading international, regional and local TB control agencies, including the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Union prioritizes the health care needs of low-and-middle income countries. It is a pathfinder organization that develops, promotes and evaluates cost-effective strategies in collaboration with Ministries of Health and national and international partners. Its technical work focuses on three main pillars: (1) technical support to public health programs, (2) training, and (3) operational research. The Union’s core values are the quality of its technical work, independence, with an emphasis on critical evaluation and solidarity with countries with limited resources.

The Union’s Regional Office for South-East Asia (USEA), located in New Delhi, invites applications from the health programme/project managers/public health professionals involved in TB care and prevention in India for a “National Operational Research Training Course” with special focus on Tuberculosis (TB) and other co-morbidities. This course is conducted by The Union in collaboration with Central TB Division and National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (NITRD) as part of research capacity building of TB program in India through Project Axshya supported by The Global Fund. The course is based on the success of ‘The Union/MSF’ model of capacity building, a target-oriented training with defined milestones and expected outputs. Failure to fulfil the expected outputs linked to each module implies the candidate does not return for the next module. Participants go through the whole research process and complete the course with a defined product which is a peer-reviewed manuscript to be submitted for publication in peer- reviewed scientific journals.

To develop the practical skills for conducting operational research and publishing thefindings.

2. Coursecurriculum
The course comprises three modules which will be held at Delhi, India, as follows:

Module 1: Research Question and Protocol Development – August 20-25,2018

This will be a six day module to help participants develop a thorough understanding about what operational research is all about and to ensure that a draft research protocol is produced before the completion of the module. The teaching will be through lectures, discussions, exercises and use of completed and published operational research as examples, and participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their written protocols with the facilitators. This six-day module will continue with Module2.

3. Faculty for the course

5. Course follow-up

In between the modules 2 and 3, candidates will return to their respective health programmes/projects to continue their routine work and in addition collect the data pertaining to their researchprojects.
Participants will receive mentorship from the assigned mentors until the project is complete and paper published.
Course facilitators will be available to provide advice uponrequest.

6. Criteria for successful applicants

a) Working with national or state or NGO programme for TB care and control.
b) Provide written commitment to attend all three modules of the training course, returnto their programme or institution after the course and implement course knowledge at programme level for a minimum of at least 18months.
c) Provide a written statement from the supervisor or coordination/operations or relevant authority attesting to the investment of resources and granting the applicant permission to have time and opportunity to carry out and publish operational research and adhere to all the course milestones andtimelines.
d) Provide a written statement from a mentor describing how the mentor knows the candidate and how the mentor proposes to provide support to complete the coursesuccessfully.
e) Outline a half page of text that a) describes a problem that the candidate hasidentified within a given program including the policy gap it addresses and b) formulates a research question that is proposed to be developed into an operational researchproject.
f) Fluent in written and spokenEnglish.
g) Computerliterate.

8. Research Questions –guidance
In your application you should formulate and submit a research question based on a perceived problem within TB programme or health system in which you work. The research will have to be carried out within a 6 months’ time frame and therefore we strongly encourage secondary research projects with focused research questions which can be completed within the timeframe. It is essential that the concept is focused on secondary data analysis and not prospective research proposals. Research questions aligned to national research priorities like TB co-morbidities, Pediatric TB, TB surveillance, DR-TB and others will be considered favourably in selection process.

The organizers’ will provide a full scholarship to successful applicants (15 numbers). The scholarship includes all tuition fees, travel expenses, meals and accommodation.

About The Role
The Manager Information System is responsible to ensure the operationalization of software developed for the Management Information System and the Performance Management System in the organization including online modules supported with offline formats and mobile applications. The position is responsible to facilitate users in the organization to utilize the software and to identify emerging user requirements and facilitate modification of the software, as required. Role and Responsibilities

User Requirements

Understand user requirements across levels and offices of the organization including the head quarter office, state office, district office and other field locations to ensure that the software is responsive to these requirements.

Work closely with users in different departments of the organization to gain inputs on reporting requirements, information and analysis dashboards etc. and render the same into an actionable brief for the software developers.

Co-ordination with Developers

Function as the nodal coordination point with software developers for all aspects related to utilization of the software.

Software Testing

Conduct test runs of various modules of the software and provide inputs to the software developer to undertake suitable modifications.

Develop and implement protocols for the test run to ensure the software (or sub-modules) is transitioned to user ready status within planned schedules.

User Acceptance

Conduct periodic and contingent trainings to orient users about the software and build their skills to use the software.
Assist in identifying potential training resources within and external to the organization.
Conduct training of trainers (TOTs) on usage of the software to facilitate onward training across the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Jal Bhagirathi Foundation works towards strengthening the capacity of desert communities to manage their scarce water and natural resources through traditional best practices. With active participation from the community JBF acts as a catalyst and facilitator for the construction and restoration of traditional water harvesting structures in the Marwar region.

Common property resources like pasturelands; sacred groves, gravely lands and cultivable wastelands play an important role in preserving the local bio-diversity. JBF is attempting to empower village level institutions to adopt a pragmatic approach towards development and restoration of common property resources, benefits of which will accrue to the entire village community.

The strategy focuses on capacity building and training of rural community for development and proper management of ecological resources. The Foundation follows a participatory approach and emphasizes on strengthening village level institutions to effectively manage natural resources. Women empowerment is promoted through their participation in project planning, execution and management.
